Some surveys on the Kuznetsov trace formula for discrete groups acting on the Poincaré upper half plane (such as the modular group \(PSL(2,\mathbb{Z})\) and its congruence subgroups) can be found in the articles of R. W. Bruggeman, M. N. Huxley, as well as \textit{H. Iwaniec} and \textit{J. Szmidt} in [H. Iwaniec (ed.), Elementary and analytic theory of numbers, Banach Center Publ. 17, 317-331 (1985; Zbl 0589.10025)]. The formula has been used to study eigenvalues of Hecke operators, exceptional eigenvalues of the Laplacian and Kloosterman sums, for example. Here the author sketches a proof of an analogue of the Kuznetsov trace formula for the Picard group acting on the 3-dimensional hyperbolic upper half space. The Picard group is \(PSL(2,\mathbb{Z}[i])\). Applications similar to that of the ordinary Kuznetsov trace formula are envisioned.
