Nonstationary nonplanar free motions of an orbiting string with multiple internal resonances (Q676950)

The system under consideration consists of a shuttle carrying a satellite that is connected with shuttle by an elastic string. The system is governed by two nonlinear integrodifferential equations. The authors analyze the stability of steady periodic solutions, and establish the existence of two bifurcation points on a stationary branch (in which the steady solutions lose and regain stability, respectively). Additionally, the authors present a numerical solution of the problem.
