The author considers two viscoplastic models with kinematic hardening in the framework of finite plasticity. In these models the elastic constitutive equations are characterized by the isotropic elastic moduli in terms of the objective rate of the Cauchy stress defined with respect to the spin of the substructure. The plastic spin relations are described on the basis of noncoaxiality between the Cauchy stress and the plastic rate of deformation. The first generalized viscoplastic model involves the plastic rate of deformation dependent on the Cauchy stress rate by a noncoaxiale relation, and the evolution law for the back stress given by a Prager-Ziegler's shift rule. The strain rate hardening response is represented by the power law including a nonlocal term. The model is dependent on some parameters, and consequently the viscoplastic version of \(J_{2}\) flow theory can be obtained, and the appropriate objective stress rate can be reduced to the Jaumann stress rate of Cauchy's stress. In the second generalized porous plasticity model, the flow potential for Gurson's model with isotropic/kinematic hardening depends on the void volume fraction, on the effective flow strength associated with a kinematic hardening characteristic, and on the effective equivalent stress. The flow rule for platic rate of deformation is considered, the evolution equation for the back stess being dependent on the flow potential and on the strain hardening function. The author considers a nonlocal damage effect. On the basis of the rate-type principle of virtual work, the effects of plastic spin on shear banding and simple shear are examined by numerical analyses within the proposed constitutive framework. Some experimental evidences for stress responses are shown for simple shear, and finite element simulations of shear banding in plane strain tension are performed. Critical or negligible effects of plastic spin on shear band formation are observed, depending on the constitutive models, and nonlocal effects are examinated, too. Finally, the author discusses the relationships between simple shear behaviour and shear band formation, and makes comparisons between different kinds of viscoplastic models.
