An algorithm for spectral analysis of linear dynamic systems (Q677603)

A continuation method of computing the roots of polynomials, based on the method of \textit{A. M. Gofen} of 1982 [U.S.S.R. Comput. Math. Math. Phys. 22, No. 5, 74--88 (1982); translation from Zh. Vychisl. Mat. Mat. Fiz. 22, No. 5, 1094--1108 (1982; Zbl 0517.41027)], is presented and demonstrated in a simple example. No comparison neither with other continuation methods (with well known possible difficulties) nor with the mostly used QR algorithm of \textit{J. G. F. Francis} [Comput. J. 4, 265--271 (1961); 4, 332--345 (1962; Zbl 0104.34304)] and \textit{V. N. Kublanovskaya} [U.S.S.R. Comput. Math. Math. Phys. 1, 637--657 (1962); translation from Zh. Vychisl. Mat. Mat. Fiz. 1, 555--570 (1961; Zbl 0128.11702)] is mentioned.
