The rigidity of affine hypersurfaces in the standard affine 4-space \(\mathbb{R}^4\) is studied in this paper. Let \((M,g)\) be an \(n\)-dimensional Riemannian manifold and two affine isometric immersions of \((M,g)\) into \(\mathbb{R}^{n+1}\) be given. An affine isometric immersion is an immersion for which the induced affine metric is equal to the given \(g\). The question is, under which conditions the two immersions are equivalent relative to the special affine group. A classical result says that if the corresponding Pick cubic forms are equal, then the immersions are equivalent. The author gives pointwise conditions on the Pick form under which an isometric embedding of a Riemannian 3-dimensional manifold into \(\mathbb{R}^4\) is rigid.
