The stability is studied as \(N\to\infty\) for a system of \(N\) identical particles in a magnetic field. The magnetic fields are assumed to have the direction of the \(z\)-axis and to be independent of \(z\). Furthermore, we assume SO(2) symmetry for magnetic fields nonincreasing at infinity (in the \((x,y)\)-plane). The potential \(V\) of the pairwise interaction is assumed to be of alternating signs, which is typical of intranuclear interactions. Let us note that for negative potentials the stability of \(N\)-particle systems follows from [\textit{J. Avron}, \textit{I. Herbst} and \textit{B. Simon}, Ann. Phys. 114, No. 4, 431-451 (1978; Zbl 0409.35027)] for arbitrary \(N\). The main result of this paper is the following: Under some weak assumptions on the potential \(V\) it is proved that there exist stable \(N\)-particle systems for arbitrarily large \(N\). Hence, the results on the stability of multinucleon systems without magnetic field [\textit{S. A. Vulgater} and \textit{G. M. Zhislin}, Teor. Mat. Fiz. 76, No. 1, 132-142 (1988)] are generalized to the case of a magnetic field.
