A continuous function \(f:I\to I\), \(I\) real compact interval is chaotic if it has at least a two-point scrambled set. In [\textit{V. Jiménez López}, Real. Anal. Exch. 21, No. 2, 664-688 (1995; Zbl 0879.58044)] an explicit description of scrambled sets of weakly unimodal chaotic functions of type \(2^\infty\) is given. Recall that a function is of type \(2^\infty\) if it has periodic points of period \(2^r\) for any \(r\geq 0\) and no other periodic points. In the present paper the author restricts the above mentioned family of functions in an appropriate way and shows that in this case the obtained description gives much more effective and detailed information about the structure of scrambled sets.
