This paper generalizes results of \textit{H. Waadeland} [A note on partial derivatives of continued fractions, Lect. Notes Math. 1199, 294-299 (1986; Zbl 0594.40005)] to two-dimensional continued fractions. That is, if \(D\) is a two-dimensional continued fraction satisfying certain strong convergence conditions, then partial derivatives of the value of \(D\) with respect to its elements are given in terms of the values of its tails. This is in turn used to derive truncation error estimates for limit periodic two-dimensional continued fractions.
