The existence and behaviour of so called topological multivortex solutions of the relativistic self-dual Maxwell-Chern-Simons-Higgs system are the main subjects of the paper. Mathematically speaking the equations under consideration are \[ \Delta v=2q^2(e^{v+f}-1)-2q\kappa A_0+g,\quad \Delta A_0=\kappa q(1-e^{v+f})+(\kappa^2+2q^2e^{v+f})A_0 \] with boundary conditions \( \lim_{|z|\to\infty}v=0\), \(\lim_{|z|\to\infty}A_0=0\), where \[ g=\sum_{j=1}^m{{4n_j}\over{(1+|z-z_j|^2)^2}}. \] The existence of a solution is proved by applying variational methods to the functional \[ {\mathcal F}(v)=\int\Bigl[{1\over 2}|\Delta v|^2-(\Delta g-\kappa^2g)v+ 2q^4(e^{v+f}-1)^2+{1\over 2}\kappa^2|\bigtriangledown v|^2+2q^2e^{v+f} |\bigtriangledown(v+f)|^2\Bigr]dx. \] Then the solution is constructed by an iteration method. Asymptotic exponential decay estimates for these solutions are also established. So called Abelian Higgs (\(\kappa\to 0\)) and Chern-Simons (\(\kappa, q\to\infty, q^2/\kappa=const.\)) limits are investigated.
