Using the Argand-Gauss representation of the affine Galois plane \(AG(2,p^h)\) the author studies sets \(S_n\) of type \((0,n)_1\) in \(AG(2,p^h)\), i.e. the sets such that \(|S_n\cap r|=0\) or \(|S_n\cap r|=n\) for every line \(r\) of \(AG(2,p^h)\). He determines a system \(S\) of algebraic equations with \((\frac{p^h}{n}-1) (p^h+1)\) unknowns, and shows that the compatibility in \(GF(p^{2h})\) of this system is equivalent to the existence of a set of type \((0,n)_1\) in \(AG(2,p^h)\).
