Summary: The speed of growth for a particular stochastic growth model introduced by \textit{A. Borodin} and \textit{P. L. Ferrari} [Commun. Math. Phys. 325, No. 2, 603--684 (2014; Zbl 1303.82015)], which belongs to the KPZ anisotropic universality class, was computed using multi-time correlations. The model was recently generalized by \textit{F. Toninelli} [Ann. Probab. 45, No. 5, 2899--2940 (2017; Zbl 1383.82031)] and for this generalization the stationary measure is known but the time correlations are unknown. In this note, we obtain algebraic and combinatorial proofs for the expression of the speed of growth from the prescribed dynamics.
