The authors consider a dimer model on a so-called rail yard graph (RYG), which is an infinite bipartite plane graph, periodic in one direction but not in the other. The RYG dimer model is a probability measure over an admissible dimer covering. For the model the authors compute its partition function and correlation function. The RYG dimer model is also reformulated as a Schur process, which is a random sequence of integer partitions subject to some interlacing conditions. An explicit expression for all correlation functions is provided, this is equivalent to the expression of the inverse Kasteleyn matrix of the RYG dimer model. It is noted that plane partitions, domino tilings of the Aztec diamond, pyramid partitions, and steep tillings arise as particular cases of the RYG dimer model. A new derivations of the edge-probability generating function is provided for the Aztec diamond.
