Considering a smooth convex surface \(S\) in three-dimensional space, the \textit{mid-plane} of two different points \((p_1, p_2) \in S\) is the plane determined by the midpoint of \((p_1,p_2)\) and the line given by the intersection of the tangent planes of \(S\) in \(p_1\) and \(p_2\) respectively. The present paper relates this concept with terms of classical affine differential geometry. It is proved, that if one point tends to the other in a direction, then the mid-plane converges to the \textit{Transon-plane} of this direction. Furthermore, for at most six directions the envelope of mid-planes is non-empty and coincides with the center of the \textit{Moutard-quadric} related to the direction. Calling the limit of the envelope of mid-planes the \textit{affine mid-planes evolute} it is proved that this is a regular surface in 3-space, assuming generic conditions.
