The problem is to determine the spectrum of a Laplace operator on a bounded domain of \(\mathbb{R}^n\) with different boundary conditions as e.g. dynamic boundary conditions for parabolic equations. After presenting some known results, by means of harmonic transplantation, inequalities are derived for the smallest positive and the largest negative eigenvalue, playing the role of fundamental frequencies. Moreover, based on first and second order shape derivatives, first and second order domain variations of the fundamental eigenvalues are treated for nearly circular domains.
