The authors analyze the uniqueness properties of solutions to the linear Schrödinger equation \(iu_{t}+\Delta u+V(x,t)u=0\) in \({\mathbb{R}}^{n+1}\) as well as the nonlinear version \(iu_{t}+\Delta u+F(u,\overline{u})=0,\) where \(V\) and \(F\) satisfy certain restrictions. Considering two solutions \(u_{1}(x,t)\) and \(u_{2}(x,t)\) to the linear Schrödinger equation, the authors provide some sufficient conditions on certain norms of \(u_{1}(\cdot,0)-u_{2}(\cdot,0)\) and \(u_{1}(\cdot,1)-u_{2}(\cdot,1)\) so that \(u_{1}\equiv u_{2}\) is guaranteed. The same problem is also analyzed for the nonlinear Schrödinger equation.
