      For many years, when somebody spoke about function theory on quaternions it was mostly referred to the functions which are called regular (or hyperholomorphic) in the sense of Fueter and which are null solutions of the first-order partial differential operator with constant quaternionic coefficients generalizing the classical complex Cauchy-Riemann operator. But the authors note in the introduction the following: \N``In the past ten years, however, many mathematicians have devoted significant attention to a different notion of regularity known as slice regularity or slice hyperholomorphy''. Indeed, a good number of papers and several books have been published in which the base of the theory and a lot of interesting properties have been developed. The three authors are among the principal founders and active promoters of the theory, so it is not surprising that for a new book they have chosen the topic of entire functions, very attractive theme in one complex variable. The list of contents gives a good idea about the aspects of complex entire functions which have been extended to the slice regular context: {\parindent=0.6cm \begin{itemize}\item[1.] Introduction. \item[2.] Slice regular functions: algebra. {\parindent=0.9cm\begin{itemize}\item[2.1] Definition and main results. \item[2.2] The representation formula. \item[2.3] Multiplication of slice regular functions. \item[2.4] Quaternionic intrinsic functions. \item[2.5] Composition of power series. \N\N\end{itemize}} \item[3.] Slice regular functions: analysis. {\parindent=0.9cm\begin{itemize}\item[3.1] Some integral formulas. \item[3.2] Riemann mapping theorem. \item[3.3] Zeros of slice regular functions. \item[3.4] Modulus of a slice regular functions and Ehrenpreis-Malgrange lemma. \item[3.5] Cartan theorem. \N\N\end{itemize}} \item[4.] Slice regular infinite products. {\parindent=0.9cm\begin{itemize}\item[4.1] Infinite products of quaternions. \item[4.2] Infinite products of functions. \item[4.3] Weierstrass factorization theorem. \item[4.4] Blaschke products. \N\N\end{itemize}} \item[5.] Growth of entire slice regular functions. {\parindent=0.9cm\begin{itemize}\item[5.1] Growth scale. \item[5.2] Jensen theorem. \item[5.3] Carathéodory theorem. \item[5.4] Growth of the \(\star\)-product of entire slice regular functions. \item[5.5] Almost universal entire functions. \item[5.6] Entire slice regular functions of exponential type. \N\N\end{itemize}} \N\N\end{itemize}}
