Let \(M\) be a metric space with a locally finite Borel measure \(\nu\) and let \(\{ e_\xi \}_{\xi \in M}\) a continuous family of solutions to the equation \( Au = \lambda u \). For \N\[\N {\mathcal K }(\xi,\eta) = a[e_\xi,e_\eta]- \lambda(e_\xi,e_\eta)_H, \N\]\N where \(a[.,.]\) is a closed quadratic form defined on a subspace of a Hilbert space \(H\), the author considers the self-adjoint integral operator \N\[\N K: u \mapsto \int {\mathcal K }(\xi,\eta) u(\eta)\, d\nu(\eta) \N\]\N in the space \(L_2(M,d\nu)\). Let \({\mathcal N}(K;t) \) be the dimension of the eigenspace of \(K\) corresponding to the interval \( (-\infty,t)\), \(t \leq 0 \). The aim of the paper is to provide lower bounds for the dimension of this eigenspace.\N\NFor the entire collection see [Zbl 1257.00016].
