Complex fluids. Proceedings of the XII Sitges conference, Sitges, Barcelona, Spain, 1-5 June 1992 (Q684254)

[The articles will not be reviewed individually.] This book is one in the series of Lecture Notes in Physics and contains the Proceedings of the XII Sitges Conference on complex fluids. There are twenty-nine papers which cover recent theoretical and experimental work on a wide range of such fluids. Some of the topics and areas covered are colloidal suspensions, the dynamics of crystallization in model hard sphere suspension, structure of DNA mesophases, electrolytes and polyelectrolytes, ferrofluids, melts, gels and blends, polydisperse complex fluids, physical modelling using microparticles, molecular theory for concentrated solutions of rod-like liquid crystal polymers and froths and foams. The contributions are, in general, of a high standard and have been written in a readable style. They present interesting work on the research frontiers of complex fluids. To single out any particular contribution is, in the opinion of this reviewer, not an easy task. It is a book that I would recommend for all researchers in the field who have been unable to attend the Conference.
