The paper studies the asymptotic probability that a random pair of Sylow \(2\)-subgroups of \(S_n\) or \(A_n\) has trivial intersection. It complements recent work on intersections of Sylow subgroups in finite groups (see in particular \textit{P.~Diaconis} et al. [J. Algebra 689, 62--86 (2026; Zbl 08159206)]) and proves that if \(P\in \mathrm{Syl}_2(S_n)\) and \(x\in S_n\) is chosen uniformly at random, then\N\[\N\Pr(P\cap P^x=1)=e^{-1/2}+O(1/n).\N\]\NIt also shows that if \(P\in \mathrm{Syl}_2(A_n)\), then \(\Pr(P\cap P^x=1)=\frac{3}{2}e^{-1/2}+O(1/n)\).
