The author proves concentration compactness of a space of nonlinear \(p\)- harmonic function, i.e., solutions of a degenerate nonlinear elliptic equation \[ \text{div}\bigl(\|\nabla u\|^{p-2}\nabla u\bigr)+ C_ 0| u|^{q-2} u=0\quad (2\leq p< n).\leqno{(*)} \] Let \(u_ j\) \((j=1,2,\dots)\) be weak solutions of \((*)\) on a domain \(\Omega\) of \(\mathbb{R}^ n\) such that the \(L^{1,p}\)-norms are uniformly bounded from above, where \(L^{1,p}\) denotes the Sobolev space of functions whose derivatives belong to \(L^ p\). Then there exists a finite set \(\mathcal S\) of points of \(\Omega\) such that a subsequence of \(\{u_ j\}^ \infty_{j=1}\) converges to a weak solution on \(\Omega\), uniformly on any compact set of \(\Omega-{\mathcal S}\), and that the \(L^{(np/n-p)}\)-norms are concentrated at the points of \(\mathcal S\).
