    Let \(f: [a,b]\to\mathbb{R}\) and \(p\in (1,\infty)\). For a given partition of the form \(\pi: a= a_ 1< c_ 1= d_ 1< b_ 1= a_ 2<\cdots <b_{m- 1}= a_ m< c_ m\leq d_ m< b_ m= b\), let \[ \sigma^ 2_ p(f;\pi):= \sum^ m_{j=1} \left|{f(b_ j)- f(d_ j)\over b_ j- d_ j}- {f(c_ j)- f(a_ j)\over c_ j- a_ j}\right|^ p\cdot {1\over (b_ j- a_ j)^{p-1}} \] and \[ V^ 2_ p(f;[a,b]):= \sup_ \pi \sigma^ 2_ p(f,\pi). \] The number \(V^ 2_ p(f;[a,b])\) is called Riesz \((p,2)\)-variation of the function \(f\) on \([a,b]\). If \(V^ 2_ p(f;[a,b])\) \(<\infty\), the function is said to have bounded Riesz \((p,2)\)-variation and the set of such functions is denoted by \(BV^ 2_ p[a,b]\). The author proves that a real function \(f\) defined on \([a,b]\) belongs to the class \(A^ 2_ p[a,b]\) if and only if \(f{\i}BV^ 2_ p[a,b]\). Moreover, \(V^ 2_ p(f;[a,b])= \| f''\|^ p_{L_ p}\), where \(A^ 2_ p[a,b]\) is the class of functions for which \(f'\) is absolutely continuous on \([a,b]\) and \(f''\in L_ p[a,b]\).
