In this note we study the local orbital integrals of the relative trace formula and outline a proof of its fundamental lemma for arbitrary spherical functions for \(GL(3)\) [cf. \textit{H. Jacquet} and the author, Bull. Soc. Math. Fr. 120, 263-295 (1992; Zbl 0785.11032)].
