For the numerical solution of the nonlinear system arising with fully implicit Runge-Kutta methods, the possibility of exploiting several processors in parallel is investigated. The outcome of this research is a simplified Newton iteration, wherein the Jacobian of the nonlinear system the full Runge-Kutta matrix is replaced by a diagonal approximation. Numerical comparisons with the serial codes LSODE and RADAU5 are presented.
