The object of investigation of this paper is the nonlinear integral equation (1) \(x(t)=f(t)+\int^ t_{-\infty}a(t,s)[x(s)+g(s,x(s))]ds\), \(t\in R\). In (1), \(x,f\) and \(g\) stand for \(n\)-vector valued functions, while \(a(t,s)\) is an \(n\) by \(n\) matrix kernel with continuous entries for \(s\leq t\) and \(a(t,s)=0\) for \(s>t\). It is assumed throughout the paper that the condition \(\sup\int^ t_{-\infty}| a(t,s)| ds\leq A<\infty\) holds true. Sufficient conditions are indicated for the existence of a bounded solution of equation (1), on the whole real axis. The periodic case is also discussed. Some of the imposed conditions relate to the resolvent kernel of \(a(t,s)\). Another particular aspect is when \(a(t,s)=a(t-s)\), i.e. the convolution case.
