Let \(X\) be a Banach space and \(M\) be a total subspace of its dual space. The completion of \(X\) with respect to \(M\) is defined to be the completion of \(X\) under the norm \[ \| x\|_ M=\sup \{| f(x)|:\;f\in M,\;\| f\|\leq 1\}. \] This notion turned out to be useful in Fréchet space theory [see \textit{G. Metafune} and \textit{V. B. Moscatelli}, NATO ASI. Ser. Ser. C: Math. Phys. Sci. 287, 235-254 (1989; Zbl 0711.46008)] and in the problems of regularizability of superpositions of regularizable operators [see the author, Teor. Funkts. Funkts. Anal. Prilozh. 55, 96-100 (1991; Zbl 0755.47004)]. The paper contains the description of the class of Banach spaces, which are completions with respect to total nonnorming subspaces.
