Numerical verifications of solutions for nonlinear elliptic equations (Q689912)

Some kind of Newton-like verification method for the solutions of nonlinear two-point boundary value problems, using an enclosing technique combined with the explicit error estimates for finite element approximations was formulated by the second author [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 164, No. 2, 489-507 (1992; Zbl 0771.65046)]. The authors extend this method to nonlinear elliptic problems. Comparatively, a better convergence property is achieved. Some numerical examples are also presented.
