      Let \(\Phi =(\phi_1 , \phi_2 ): \Sigma \to \mathbb{H}^2 \times \mathbb{H}^2\) be a Lagrangian immersion. This means \(\phi^*_1 \omega_{\mathbb{H}^2} =\phi^*_2 \omega_{\mathbb{H}^2}\) for the Kähler two-form \(\omega_{\mathbb{H}^2}\) on \(\mathbb{H}^2\). Then a function \(\Gamma\) on \(\Sigma\) defined by \(\Gamma \omega_{\Sigma} =\phi^*_1 \omega_{\mathbb{H}^2} =\phi^*_2 \omega_{\mathbb{H}^2}\) for the area form \(\omega_{\Sigma}\) satisfies \(0\leq \Gamma^2 \leq 1/4\), and the two cases \(\Gamma^2 \equiv 0\) and \(\Gamma^2 \equiv 1/4\) are characterized (Theorem 3.8). \N\NComplete minimal Lagrangian surfaces in \(\mathbb{H}^2 \times \mathbb{H}^2\) with \(\Gamma^2 \leq 1/4 -\varepsilon\) for some positive constant \(\varepsilon\) satisfy \(\Gamma \equiv 0\) (Theorem 5.5). The authors characterize Lagrangian surfaces in \(\mathbb{H}^2 \times \mathbb{H}^2\) with parallel second fundamental form (Theorem 4.1). They show that minimal Lagrangian surfaces in \(\mathbb{H}^2 \times \mathbb{H}^2\) with constant Gaussian curvature are totally geodesic (Theorem 5.4).
