      The literature includes several studies on the embedding property of 2-maximal subgroups and how it is used to describe the structure of (super)solvable finite groups. The solvability of a finite group \(G\) was characterized by \textit{W. Gaschütz} [Arch. Math. 13, 418--426 (1962; Zbl 0109.01403)] using the covering and avoidance properties of its subgroups. In this regard, let \(A/B\) be a chief factor of \(G\). We say that a subgroup \(H\) of \(G\) covers \(A/B\) if \(AH=BH\). If \(H\cap A=H\cap B\), then we say that \(H\) avoids \(A/B\). If \(H\) covers or avoids any chief factor of \(G\), then \(H\) is called \(CAP\)-subgroup. The \(CAP\)-property of subgroups was further generalized as follows. A subgroup \(H\) of \(G\) is said to be a \(CAP\)-embedded subgroup if, for each prime divisor \(p\) of \(|H|\), there is a \(CAP\)-subgroup \(K\) of \(G\) such that a Sylow \(p\)-subgroup of \(H\) is also a Sylow \(p\)-subgroup of \(K\). Finally, \(H\) is called an \(ICC\)-subgroup of \(G\) if \(H\cap [H, G]\leq H_{cG}\), where \(H_{cG}\) is a \(CAP\)-subgroup of \(G\) contained in \(H\).\N\NThis paper introduces a generalization of both \(CAP\)-embedded and \(ICC\) properties of subgroups. More exactly, a subgroup \(H\) of \(G\) is called an \(ICCE\)-subgroup of \(G\) if \(H\cap [H, G]\leq H_{ceG}\), where \(H_{ceG}\) is the subgroup of \(H\) generated by all subgroups of \(H\) which are \(CAP\)-embedded in \(G\). Some examples show that, in general, an \(ICCE\)-subgroup of \(G\) is not a \(CAP\)-embedded subgroup/\(ICC\)-subgroup. The main results of this paper concern the structure of finite groups in which 2-maximal subgroups of Sylow subgroups are \(ICCE\)-subgroups. More precisely, the following two results hold:\N\begin{itemize}\N\item[a)] Let \(G\) be an \(A_4\)-free group and \(p\) be the smallest prime divisor of \(|G|\). If there is a normal subgroup \(E\) of \(G\) such that \(G/E\) is \(p\)-nilpotent and every 2-maximal subgroup of a Sylow \(p\)-subgroup is an \(ICCE\)-subgroup, then \(G\) is \(p\)-nilpotent.\N\item[b)] Let \(G\) be an \(A_4\)-free group possessing a normal subgroup \(E\) such that \(G/E\) has a Sylow tower of supersolvable type. If every 2-maximal subgroup of any Sylow subgroup of \(E\) is an \(ICCE\)-subgroup of \(G\), then \(G\) has a Sylow tower of supersolvable type.\N\end{itemize}
