    A semilattice \(S=\langle S,\land,0\rangle\) is called 0-distributive if \(a\land (x_ 1\lor\cdots \lor x_ n)=0\) whenever \(a\land x_ i= 0\), \(1\leq i\leq n\), and \(x_ 1\lor\cdots\lor x_ n\) exists in \(S\). For a nonvoid set \(A\subseteq S\), the subset \(\{x\in S\); \(x\land a=0\) for all \(a\in A\}\) is denoted by \(A^*\). An ideal \(I\) in \(S\) is called \(\alpha\)- ideal whenever \(\{x\}^{**}\subset I\) for any \(x\in I\). The authors show a number of characterizations of \(\alpha\)-ideals in 0-distributive semilattices and 0-distributive lattices. Necessary and sufficient conditions for 0-distributive semilattices to be quasi-complemented are given.
