    For the Jacobi symbol \((\frac{x}{c})\), write \[ K_{2}(m,n;c)=\sum_{\substack{ x \pmod c,\\ xx^{-1}\equiv 1 \pmod c}} \left(\frac{x}{c}\right)e\left(\frac{mx+nx^{-1}}{c}\right), \] \(\varepsilon_{c}=1\) if \(c\equiv 1 \pmod 4 \), and \(\varepsilon_{c}=i\) if \(c\equiv 3 \pmod 4 \). The author obtains the following theorem: Let \(D\) and \(f\) be odd positive integers, mutually coprime and let \(\chi\) be an even primitive Dirichlet character modulo \(f\). Let \(m,n\in\mathbb{Z}\). Let \(\varepsilon>0\) and let \(X>>1\). If \(\chi\not=\chi_{f}\),or if \(m<0\) or if \(n<0\), then \[ \sum _{\substack{ 0<c\leq X,\\ c\equiv 0 \pmod D}} \frac{K_{2}(m,n;c)}{\sqrt{c}}\bar{\varepsilon}_c\chi(c) =O(X^{3/4+\varepsilon}). \] If \(\chi=\chi_{f}\) and \(m,\;n>0\), then \[ \sum _{\substack{ 0<c\leq X,\\ c\equiv 0 \mod D }} \frac{K_{2}(m,n;c)}{\sqrt{c}}\bar{\varepsilon}_c\chi(c) =C(D,f,m,n)X+O(X^{3/4+\varepsilon}), \] for some real number \(C(D,f,m,n)\). The method is based on the Kuznetsov formula for modular forms of half-integral weight.
