This paper is a concise introduction to representation theory and harmonic analysis on finite groups. For a more extensive treatment, the interested reader is referred to the authors' monographs [Harmonic analysis on finite groups. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press (2008; Zbl 1149.43001); Discrete harmonic analysis. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press (2018; Zbl 1395.43001); Representation theory of finite group extensions. Cham: Springer (2022; Zbl 1515.20006)].\N\NThe presentation includes, in particular, a treatment of Gelfand pairs and induced representations. The authors also discuss Laplace operators and the spectral theory of finite regular graphs. In the last part, they present the representation theory of \(\mathrm{GL}(2,\mathbb{F}_{q})\).\N\NFor the entire collection see [Zbl 1561.20001].
