Let \([0; a_1, a_2, \dots ]\) be the continued fraction expansion of a number from the unit interval and \(\frac{p_n}{q_n}=[0; a_1, a_2, \dots , a_n ]\) be the convergent.\N\NThe present research deals with the distribution of the sequences \(p_n \pmod m\) and \(q_n \pmod m\) in \(\mathbb Z_m\), where \(m \ge 2\) is a fixed integer.\N\NOne can note the following results presented by the author:\N\N-- the central limit theorem, the law of the iterated logarithm, as well as the weak and the almost sure invariance principles, are obtained;\N\N-- for the irrational rotation with the indicator of an interval as test function, the limit distribution of the maximum and the minimum of the Birkhoff sum, is established;\N\N-- ``the normalizing constant in a classical limit law for the same Birkhoff sum'' is calculated, as well as the incorrectness on its dependence on the test interval is proven.\N\NThe used techniques include applications of the Perron-Frobenius operator, a certain version of the Gauss-Kuzmin-Lévy theorem which was also proven, etc. Proofs are given with auxiliary explanations and remarks.
