Let \(K\) be an algebraically closed field of characteristic \(2\) and let \(V = K^{\oplus 2}\) be the natural representation of the group \(G = \mathrm{SL}_2(K)\). This article is concerned with the asymptotics of the number \(b_k^{G,V}\) of indecomposable direct summands (counted with multiplicities) of the \(k\)-fold tensor power \(V^{\otimes k}\). For \(\delta = \frac32 - \frac{ \log 3 }{ 2 \log 2 }\), it is shown that \(b_{2k}^{G,V} = b_{2k+1}^{G,V}\) is asymptotic to \(\omega(k) \cdot k^{-\delta} \cdot 2^k\) for a multiplicatively periodic function \(\omega \colon \mathbb{R} \to \mathbb{R}_{>0}\). Here, \(\omega \) is explicitly described as an infinite convolution of sums of delta functions and rescaled theta series. This provides an affirmative answer to a question raised by \textit{K. Coulembier} et al. [Algebr. Represent. Theory 27, No. 2, 1033--1062 (2024; Zbl 1540.14094)]. It is further proven that the number \(b_k^{G,W}\) of indecomposable direct summands of the \(k\)-fold tensor power of an arbitrary tilting module \(W\) for \(G\) has a lower bound of the form \(c_W \cdot k^{-\delta} \cdot \dim(W)^k\).
