This paper defines and studies the logarithmic Poisson cohomology. Let us recall that the logarithmic Poisson structures derive from log symplectic structures and that the logarithmic differential forms have been introduced by P. Deligne. In this work, the author proves that logarithmic principal Poisson structure induces a differential complex and a logarithmic Poisson cohomology. To define the relevant notions, the author uses the notions of Lie-Rinehart algebra. He then proves the equivalence of the Poisson cohomology and the logarithmic Poisson cohomology for log symplectic structures. He also proves that in general, the two cohomologies are different. Finally, he applies the logarithmic Poisson cohomology to the prequantization of \(\{x,y\}= x\).
