\textit{D. S. Ornstein} and \textit{B. Weiss} [J. Anal. Math. 48, 1--141 (1987; Zbl 0637.28015)] extended much of entropy and isomorphism theory (and in particular the Ornstein theorems concerning systems isomorphic to Bernoulli shifts) to the setting of amenable group actions. In particular, they developed techniques to extend coding arguments from the setting of a single transformation, showed how to use quasi-tilings of amenable groups, and identified a class of groups for which these methods could be used to recover Ornstein theory. Here the setting considered is topological: A compact metric space carrying an action of a countable amenable group by homeomorphisms. For such a system it is shown that there always exists a uniquely ergodic zero entropy tiling of the acting group, whose tiles have arbitrarily good invariance properties. The unique ergodicity property strengthens an earlier construction of tilings by \textit{T. Downarowicz} et al. [J. Reine Angew. Math. 747, 277--298 (2019; Zbl 1411.37017)].
