The aim of this paper is to provide a comprehensive analysis for an interesting class of variable exponents logarithmic double phase problems with nonlinearities exhibiting generalized critical growth. The authors first collect the mathematical background about the suitable function space to carry out the analysis (i.e., the Musielak-Orlicz space), then special attention is paid to characterize the \(N\)-function which will play a key role in developing the proofs. We note the new result about continuous and compact embeddings stated in Proposition 3.8, based on the estimates given in Propositions 3.4--3.7. Furthermore, a concentration compactness principle is stated in Theorem 4.6, based on suitable inequalities and convergences in norm. Based on this theory, the authors establish the existence and multiplicity of weak solutions to a class of quasilinear elliptic equations with Dirichlet boundary condition in Theorem 6.8 (at least \(n\) pairs of non-trivial weak solutions, for each fixed \(n \in \mathbb{N}\)) and Theorem 6.17 (infinitely many weak solutions with negative energy values), respectively in the case of superlinear and sublinear growth.
