This paper presents some new, even-dimensional, rotating, black holes with a negative cosmological constant, having nonspherical, negatively curved, horizon cross-sections. These black holes generalize those of \textit{D. Klemm} [J. High Energy Phys. 1998, No. 11, Paper No. 19, 11p. (1998; Zbl 0951.83043)], which had a single nonzero rotation parameter, to the case where there are the maximal number \(N\) of nonzero rotation parameters, where \(2(N+1)\) is the number of space-time dimensions. The metric is constructed from the general, higher-dimensional, Kerr-AdS black hole using an analytic continuation method akin to that in the work of Klemm et al. The resulting, rather complicated, metric is given explicitly and studied in detail in the rest of the paper. The aspects considered by the authors include: the absence of any curvature singularities when all the rotation parameters are nonzero; the scalar curvature of the horizon cross-sections; a Kerr-Schild-like extension of the metric; the asymptotics of the space-time; Killing horizons and their surface gravity; and the causality of the space-times. Informative projection diagrams are also presented and compared with the corresponding diagrams for the four-dimensional Kerr-AdS black hole having a spherical horizon. Finally, the authors explain why their construction fails to yield reasonable metrics when either the number of space-time dimensions is odd, or the cosmological constant is positive.
