This article addresses a long-standing open problem concerning the linearity of compact \(R\)-analytic groups, extending classical results in \(p\)-adic analytic group theory. The authors prove that any compact \(R\)-analytic group is linear, provided that the base ring \(R\) is a pro-\(p\) domain of characteristic zero. This result generalizes and unifies several previously known cases, including the linearity of finitely generated \(R\)-analytic groups and of just-infinite or perfect \(R\)-analytic groups in certain settings.\N\NLet \(R\) be a pro-\(p\) domain of characteristic zero (that is, a local Noetherian domain complete with respect to its maximal ideal \(\mathfrak{m}\), with finite residue field of characteristic~\(p\)). An \(R\)-analytic group is a topological group equipped with an \(R\)-analytic manifold structure compatible with the group operations. If \(R = \mathbb{Z}_p\), this recovers the well-known theory of compact \(p\)-adic analytic groups.\N\NThe proof reduces to \(R\)-standard groups, which are shown to be discriminated by suitable general linear groups over \(\mathbb{Z}_p\). The authors construct embeddings into \(p\)-adic analytic groups over scalar extensions of Krull dimension one and deduce linearity via ultrapowers. The argument relies on a variant of Ado's theorem for principal ideal domains and the correspondence between uniform pro-\(p\) groups and powerful Lie lattices. An explicit bound for the degree of the linear representation is given in terms of the group dimension, its level and the rank of \(R\) as a module.
