In the first part, the authors study singular Riemannian foliations (SRFs), namely singular foliations in the sense of \textit{I. Androulidakis} and \textit{G. Skandalis} [J. Reine Angew. Math. 626, 1--37 (2009; Zbl 1161.53020)] (e.g., the symplectic leaves of a Poisson manifold) endowed with a compatible Riemannian metric. This framework extends the classical notion of Riemannian foliations and provides a module-of-vector-fields formulation of singular Riemannian foliations in the sense of \textit{P. Molino} [Riemannian foliations. Boston, MA etc.: Birkhäuser Verlag (1988; Zbl 0633.53001)]. The main result concerns Hausdorff-Morita equivalence of singular foliations in the sense of \textit{A. Garmendia} and \textit{M. Zambon} [Ann. Global Anal. Geom. 55, No. 1, 99--132 (2019; Zbl 1415.53014)] in the presence of a Riemannian metric: the authors show that the leaf spaces of Morita-equivalent SRFs are isometric as pseudo-metric spaces.\N\NIn the second part of the paper, the authors introduce a category of \(\mathcal{I}\)-Poisson manifolds, where \(\mathcal{I}\) is a locally finitely generated sheaf of ideals of smooth functions satisfying suitable compatibility conditions with a bivector field. The category of Poisson manifolds embeds as a full subcategory corresponding to the zero ideal, and a reduction functor is constructed that generalizes coisotropic reduction to the singular setting.\N\NThe two parts are connected by the result that every singular foliation on a manifold M induces an \(\mathcal{I}\)-Poisson structure on $T^*M$, which defines an SRF if and only if the associated Hamiltonian lies in the normalizer of \(\mathcal{I}\). Moreover, the authors show that Hausdorff-Morita equivalent singular foliations have isomorphic reduced Poisson algebras.
