Let \(G\) be a primitive solvable permutation group acting on a finite set. \textit{Á. Seress} [J. Lond. Math. Soc., II. Ser. 53, No. 2, 243--255 (1996; Zbl 0854.20004)] showed that \(G\) has \textit{base size} at most \(4\); that is, there are four points whose point-wise stabiliser in \(G\) is trivial. In the paper reviewed here, they ask what can be said about the point-wise stabiliser of two points. For example, the results by \textit{A. Moretó} and \textit{T. R. Wolf} [Adv. Math. 184, No. 1, 18--36 (2004; Zbl 1068.20008)] imply that there are two points whose point-wise stabiliser lies in the ninth Fitting subgroup of a point-stabiliser and in the second Fitting subgroup of a point-stabiliser if \(G\) has odd cardinality. \textit{Y. Yang} [J. Algebra 321, No. 7, 2012--2021 (2009; Zbl 1200.20007)] refined their result and his result implies that the Fitting length of a two-point stabiliser is at most \(7\) and the derived length is at most \(9\). The main result of this paper is that if \(|G|\) is odd, then there exist two points whose point-wise stabiliser is abelian. Their second result is the following: Let \(G\) be a solvable group and let \(V\) be a finite completely reducible faithful \(G\)-module. Then (i) there exists \(v\in V\) such that the derived length of \(C_G(v)\) is at most \(9\); (ii) if \(|V||G|\) is odd, there exists \(v\in V\) such that \(C_G(v)\) is abelian.
