Let \(\theta:G\to\Aut(K)\) be an action of a finite group \(G\) on a field \(K\), giving rise to a skew group ring \(K*_{\theta}G\). The authors of this paper study the structure of \(K*_{\theta}G\) as matrices over certain rings. The results that deal with finite \(K\) are applicable in the theory of skew group codes. Nice examples are also included.
