In [\textit{U. Abel} and \textit{V. Gupta}, Positivity 28, No. 3, Paper No. 39, 13 p. (2024; Zbl 1544.41013)] the authors investigated the composition of Durrmeyer variant of the Szász-Mirakyan operator and the classical Szász-Mirakyan operator, obtaining an operator based on associated Laguerre polynomials. This paper is concerned with the reverse order composition which provides an integral operator connected to Touchard polynomials. The author obtains some convergence results along with error estimations in terms of modulus of continuity.
