In the mathematical theory of minimal surfaces in the double bubble theorem is conjectured that the least-perimeter way to enclose and separate two regions of prescribed volume in a round, n-dimensional sphere \(S^{n}\) is the standard double bubble consisting of three spherical caps meeting at 120 degrees. The double bubble problem plays an important role in several classical problems of the calculus of variations, geometric measure theory and mathematical physics. Several authors studied the double bubble problem [\textit{M. Hutchings} et al., Ann. Math. (2) 155, No. 2, 459--489 (2002; Zbl 1009.53007); \textit{E. Milman} and \textit{J. Neeman}, ibid. 195, No. 1, 89--206 (2022; Zbl 1484.49072); \textit{F. Morgan} et al., J. Geom. Anal. 8, No. 1, 97--115 (1998; Zbl 0934.49024); \textit{A. Cotton} and \textit{D. Freeman}, Int. J. Math. Math. Sci. 32, No. 11, 641--699 (2002; Zbl 1036.49039); \textit{W. Brian} et al. Acta Cryst. Sect. A 56, No. 1, 92--95 (2000; Zbl 1188.82131); \textit{S. J. Cox} et al., Proc. R. Soc. Lond., Ser. A, Math. Phys. Eng. Sci. 469, No. 2149, Article ID 20120392, 10 p. (2013; Zbl 1371.74233); \textit{P. Duncan} et al., J. Geom. Anal. 33, No. 1, Paper No. 31, 26 p. (2023; Zbl 1504.49056); \textit{M. Friedrich} et al., Interfaces Free Bound. 26, No. 1, 79--134 (2024; Zbl 1545.49041)].\N\NThe principal objective in this paper is to study the double bubble problem over connected sets where the perimeter is taken with respect to the hexagonal norm. And to provide an elementary proof for the existence of minimizing sets for volume ratio parameter \(\alpha\in (0,1]\) by arguing that any minimizer must belong to a small family of parameterized sets.
