      The paper is focused on the integral equation \N\[\Nu(x)=\int_{\mathbb{R}^N}\frac{K(y)u(y)^{-p}}{|x-y|^{N-\alpha}}\,dy,\qquad x\in\mathbb{R}^N,\N\]\Nwhere \(N\ge 1\), \(\alpha\in (0,N)\), \(p>0\), and the function \(K:\mathbb{R}^N\to (0,\infty)\) is continuous satisfying\N\[\NC_1(1+|x|)^{-\beta}\le K(x)\le C_2(1+|x|)^{-\beta},\qquad x\in\mathbb{R}^N,\N\]\Nwith \(\beta>0\) and \(C_2>C_1>0\). In particular, the authors investigate nonexistence, existence, uniqueness and asymptotic behavior of positive solutions with finite or infinite total mass.
