For a domain \(D\subset\mathbb C^n\) and a pluripolar set \(P\subset D\), let \(\mathcal F:=\{u\in\mathcal{PSH}(D): P\subset u^{-1}(-\infty)\}\), \(P_D^\ast:=\bigcap_{u\in\mathcal F}u^{-1}(-\infty)\), \(P_D^-:=\bigcap_{u\in\mathcal F: u<0}u^{-1}(-\infty)\). The main results of the paper are the following theorems. (1) Let \(D, G\subset\mathbb C^n\) be domains and let \(h:D\rightarrow G\) be a proper holomorphic mapping. Then for any pluripolar set \(P\subset D\) we have \((h(P))_G^\ast=h(P_D^\ast)\) and \((h(P))_G^-=h(P_D^-)\). (2) Let \(D_j, G_j\subset\mathbb C\) be domains such that \(\partial G_j\) is not polar, and let \(h_j:D_j\rightarrow G_j\) be a holomorphic covering, \(j=1,\dots,n\). Then for any pluripolar set \(P\subset D:=D_1\times\dots\times D_n\) we have \((h(P))_G^\ast=(h(P))_G^-= h(P_D^-)=h(P_D^\ast)\), where \(G:=G_1\times\dots\times G_n\). The result is not true without the assumption that the \(\partial G_j\) are polar. The author presents also a general version of (2) for the so-called \(A\)-coverings.
