The authors introduce \(\mathsf{TAP}\) groups, a class where twisted Alexander polynomials detect algebraic fibring. A group \(G\) of type \(\mathrm{FP}_n(R)\) lies in \(\mathsf{TAP}_n(R)\) if the following holds for every character \(\phi \in H^1(G;\mathbb{Z})\): the character \(\phi\) is \(\mathrm{FP}_n(R)\)-semi-fibred if and only if all twisted \(i\)-th Alexander polynomials are non-vanishing for \(i \le n\).\N\NTheorem 3.8 shows finitely presented LERF groups lie in \(\mathsf{TAP}_1(R)\) for every integral domain \(R\), using Bieri-Strebel decompositions and separability. Proposition 3.12 extends to finite products via Meinert's inequality. For limit groups, Theorem 3.13 establishes \(\mathsf{TAP}_\infty(F)\) over fields by combining LERF with cohomological vanishing.\N\NThe main application concerns profinite rigidity. Theorem 4.12 proves that for \(n\)-good groups of type \(\mathrm{FP}_n(\mathbb{Z})\) with \(G_B \in \mathsf{TAP}_n(F)\), if \(\widehat{G}_A \cong \widehat{G}_B\) and an \(\varepsilon\)-pullback of \(\phi \in H^1(G_B;\mathbb{Z})\) has non-vanishing twisted Alexander polynomials, then \(\phi\) is \(\mathrm{FP}_n(F)\)-semi-fibred. Corollary 4.14 deduces algebraic fibring is profinite-invariant for products of finitely presented LERF groups.\N\NAs application, Theorem D shows that a LERF Poincaré duality group in dimension \(3\) profinitely isomorphic to the fundamental group of a closed connected hyperbolic \(3\)-manifold is itself the fundamental group of such a manifold.
