A Hausdorff topological group \(G\) is called \textit{minimal} if \(G\) admits no properly coarser Hausdorff group topology. Minimality may not be preserved under taking products. This paper is a survey on minimality of products reporting the open questions in this area. Some of this questions are the following:\N\begin{itemize}\N\item Does there exist a class \(\mathcal{A}\) of minimal abelian groups that is closed with respect to taking closed subgroups, arbitrary products and quotients and properly contains the class of all compact abelian groups? Note that the compact groups are minimal.\N\N\item If \(G\) is a minimal countably compact group, is \(G^\omega\) minimal?\N\N\item When are infinite products of complete minimal groups minimal?\N\end{itemize}\N\NFor a minimal group \(G\) the \textit{critical power of minimality} \(\kappa(G)\) is defined by \[\kappa(G)=1\] if all powers of \(G\) are minimal, otherwise \(\kappa(G)=\min\{\alpha:G^\alpha\text{ is not minimal}\}\). The realization of cardinals as values of \(\kappa(G)\) for subgroups \(G\) of \(\mathbb{Z}_p\) is discussed. The critical power of minimality of pseudocompact, countably compact and \(\omega\)-bounded groups are also studied. At the end of the paper, some recent results on local minimality and lower continuity (two generalizations of minimality) of products are discussed.
