Let \(\mathbb{F}_q\) be the field of \(q\) elements, where \(q\) is a prime power. Let \(\mathbf{g}:\mathbb{F}_q(T)\rightarrow\mathbb{R}\) be a multiplicative function such that \(\mathbf{g}(a)=1\) for any \(a\in\mathbb{F}_q^\times\), and \(\mathbf{g}(P^k)=\delta_k\) for any irreductible \(P\in\mathbb{F}_q(T)\), where \(\{\delta_k\}_{k=1}^\infty \) is an arbitrary sequence of real numbers. Let \(\mathcal{M}_N\) denote the set of monic polynomials in \(\mathbb{F}_q(T)\) that have degree \(N\). Similarly, let \(\mathcal{H}\) be the set of monic square-free polynomials.\N\NThe authors of the paper examine the asymptotic behavior of the sum \N\[\N\sum_{\substack{A\,\pmod Q)\\\N(A,\,Q)=1}}\sum_{\substack{ f\in\mathcal{M}_N,\\\Nf\,\equiv\, A\,\pmod Q}}\mathbf{g}(f) \N\]\Nand similar quantities as \(q\rightarrow\infty\), where \(Q\in\mathcal{H}\), \(\deg \,Q\geqslant 1\), and \(A\in\mathbb{F}_q(T)\). The special attention is paid to the case \(q\equiv 1\pmod 4\).
