The collection \(\{C_n\}\) of plane convex bodies is said to permit a \textit{translative covering} of a convex set \(D\) if there exist translations \(\sigma_n\) such that \(D\subset \cup \sigma_n(C_n)\). Let \(\varrho(D, C)\) denote be the smallest positive number such that any collection of positive homothetic copies of \(C\), a convex set, whose total area is not less than \(\varrho(D, C)\cdot |D|\) permits a translative covering of \(D\), where \(|D|\) denotes the area of \(D\).\N\NWith one side of a polygon \(P\) being called the \textit{base} of \(P\), a translative covering of \(P\) with polygons \(P_1, P_2,\ldots\) is said to be \textit{parallel} if each \(\sigma_n(P_n)\) has a side parallel to that base.\N\NThe main result of this paper states that, if \(I\) is a unit square and \(T\) an isosceles right triangle with a leg parallel to a side of \(I\), and \(\{T_n\}\) is a collection of the homothetic copies of \(T\) with \(\sum |T_n|\geq 2\), then \(\{T_n\}\) permits a parallel covering of \(I\), so, in particular, \(\varrho(I, T ) = 2\).
