The \(A_{\infty}\)-constraint was introduced by \textit{J. D. Stasheff} in [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 108, 293-312 (1963; Zbl 0114.39402)] as a generalization of associativity. In the paper under review it is shown that triple products in an \(A_{\infty}\)-category can give solutions to the classical Yang-Baxter equation. Moreover, all nondegenerate elliptic solutions of CYBE for \(\mathfrak{sl}_n\) arise in this way. The triple products in \(A_{\infty}\)-categories leading to CYBE are specializations of triple products of a more general kind that are solutions of what the author calls associative Yang-Baxter equation.
